Receiving a Service from us – Your consent

In order to provide a service to you, we may need to collect personal and /or sensitive information about you and the person you care for. By registering with Caring For Carers, you can receive a service from any of our partnership organisations and as such, your data could be accessed by them.

If you are a carer for someone who lives in Birmingham, you are receiving a service from Birmingham Carers Hub, delivered by Caring For Carers. Birmingham Carers Hub is contracted by Birmingham City Council. Therefore by receiving a service from Birmingham Carers Hub, your data could also be accessed by Birmingham City Council, as well as our partner organisations. Your information will be saved electronically and stored securely on Caring For Carers’ management systems. Any information you provide to us is confidential and kept in accordance with Data Protection Regulations. We do not sell personal information onto third parties. But may pass on your personal information if we have a legal obligation to do so or if you ask us to.

You can find out what information we hold about you at any time. We only keep your information for as long as we need to and we may contact you again for your consent to retain your information. You can ask us not to use or delete any of the information we collect, at any time.

Using the Caring For Carers website and connecting with us via Social Media

Caring For Carers will collect certain information or data about you when you use this website. This includes:

  • questions, queries or feedback you leave, including any personal information if you send an email to Caring For Carers
  • your IP address, and details of which version of web browser you used
  • information on how you use the site, using cookies and page tagging techniques to help us improve the website
